FOR ALL TISSUE CULTURE PROCESSES, THERE IS A $25 INITIAL FEE FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A MINIMUM OF THREE (3) TUBES OR FLASKS. PRICES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN EFFECT WITHOUT CHANGE THROUGH 2018. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF SUCCESS, YOU ARE PAYING FOR MATERIALS AND OUR EXPERTISE IN THE LAB. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO SHIP PLANTS BACK TO YOU ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN PROPAGATED (please read below). DO NOT SEND ANY PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN ISSUED AN INVOICE BY THE LABORATORY THAT SPECIFIES THE SERVICES YOU ARE REQUESTING.
Reflasking is $18 for three (3) tubes or flasks (unless due to contamination whereupon the laboratory assumes the financial responsibility for this service while we attempt to obtain a clean culture). You will be asked to approve reflasking due to space limitations in the container from rapidly multiplying plants, selection of specific clones, or depletion of nutrients in the media which occurs approximately every 3 months. We will follow your specific instructions.
Plants propagated in tissue culture will be considered ready for shipment when they have multiplied to between 25-30 individuals. Please be patient - depending upon the instructions you have provided or what you requested from the laboratory, this can takes months to well over a year for slow growing species. Various options are available for shipment: you may elect to have the plants shipped in media, removed from media and shipped in sterile containers or plastic bags (the standard method), or plants can be hardened off in the greenhouse and shipped in moistened paper towels or spaghnum moss. Losses can and do occur during hardening off. Plants shipped in media will incur higher shipping costs due to weight and cost of the tissue culture vessels.
Induced Polyploidy - there is a charge of $1 per plant that survives the treatment. Most do, so you will need to indicate how many you wish to treat.
Gibberellic Acid and Smoke Water treatment are $5 each.
Rooting of Nepenthes cuttings - Minimum charge is $25 and is based upon the use of a standard flat. Multiple species or hybrids can be propagated in one flat to save on the overall cost if limited material is provided. Each additional flat used is $25.
Shipping and Handling: Due to high U.S. postal rates with unpredictable increases, we reserve the right to increase prices at any time. Currently we are charging a flat rate of $15 for most orders. Shipment is typically via U.S. Priority Mail.
A NOTE ABOUT PAYMENT: WE ONLY ACCEPT CHECK OR MONEY ORDER. Because credit card and Pay Pal payments are based upon the total transaction cost, it is not feasible for us to accept payment by other than check or money order.
