Welcome to Ferocious Foliage.  We are a custom tissue culture laboratory specializing in all genera of carnivorous plants.  WE DO NOT SELL OUR TISSUE CULTURES, ONLY THOSE WE ESTABLISH SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU!  Listed below are just a few of the laboratory services we can provide:

• In vitro propagation of plants from material you supply (seeds, leaves, rhizomes, stems, flowers, etc., depending upon the species of plant)
• Cloning and mass production
• Induced polyploidy
• Gibberellic acid treatment
• Smoke water treatment of seed
• Custom rooting of Nepenthes (your plants or from our stock)

Why would you want these services? 

• For very difficult species to grow, you can have a lot of individuals of one plant to experiment with
• Propagate a unique clone in large numbers so that you can share it with a lot of friends
• Propagate a unique clone in large numbers so that you can sell it
• Decrease the risk of germination failure, especially if you only have a few seeds

Although our success rate is very good, plant tissue culture involves a fair degree of art and luck in addition to sound science to be 100% successful, especially when working with plants never attempted before or for which there is no precedent.  Information provided by you, the grower, can help us improve on our number of successes.  Please be certain to let us know about the necessity of cold stratification to break dormancy, smoke-induced germination, et cetera.  We are unable to assume liability for failed propagation because so many factors come into play.  We also assume no liability for resulting damages suffered.

Every effort will be made to insure you get the very best treatment.  You will be sent periodic updates and photographs of your cultures.  Plants can be hardened off in our greenhouse facility if desired.  Once ready for shipment, we will use utmost care in packing and ship only if weather conditions permit.

In addition to providing custom tissue culture services, we will be happy to propagate plants by other means, such as rooting Nepenthes cuttings from your plants or our stock plants.  We also have some plants, primarily Nepenthes rooted cuttings, for sale.  Please follow the links to special services and plant sales.
